Iako TI nudi gotovu USB podršku nakucanu u C-u, meni je nekako draže da si po svom ukusu, sam to složim u assembleru. Usput ću i skužiti kako radi USB protokol, jer se nisam nikad ranije time bavio. Radi se o CDC-u, gdje PC vidi vezu prema uC kao virtualni COM port, i komunicira s njim kao da se radi o običnoj serijskoj vezi.

Stvarno ne znam šta je nerazumljivije, čitanje USB literature (suhoparno do bola) ili proučavanje naštrikanog TI koda (nepotrebno iskomplicirani C na kvadrat). Najlakše je... ako se spusti na zemlju i pogleda gdje to, kako, kad i šta ide. Pa evo log-a procesa enumeracije, gotovog TI kod-a, nakon čega su stvari (meni postale) puno jasnije...

Na osnovu C koda gotovog TI riješenja za podršku CDC-u (navedeni log u prethodnom post-u), nakucao sam u assembler-u svoju verziju. Baš onako kako bi to po mom trebalo izgledati. Naravno da sam usput skužio proces enumeracije, općenito (nevezano za uC), i kako to konkretno radi (ispod haube) sa MSP430F55x.

A common Windows (Win 2000, Win XP and Win 98 SE) enumeration involves the following steps:

1. The host or hub detects the connection of a new device via the device's pull up resistors on the data pair. The host waits for at least 100ms allowing for the plug to be inserted fully and for power to stabilise on the device.

2. Host issues a reset placing the device is the default state. The device may now respond to the default address zero.

3. The MS Windows host asks for the first 64 bytes of the Device Descriptor.

4. After receiving the first 8 bytes of the Device Descriptor, it immediately issues another bus reset.

5. The host now issues a Set Address command, placing the device in the addressed state.

6. The host asks for the entire 18 bytes of the Device Descriptor.

7. It then asks for 9 bytes of the Configuration Descriptor to determine the overall size.

8. The host asks for 255 bytes of the Configuration Descriptor.

9. Host asks for any String Descriptors if they were specified.

Iako (s obzirom na nepostojanje detaljnih TI objašnjenja vezanih uz tematiku) nisam bio previše optimističan, proradila je moja verzija CDC-a nakucanog u assembleru. Pošto ću razmjenjivati malu količinu podataka (u jednoj transakciji), koristim samo endpoint 2 X buffer (64 bajta), bez X/Y kombinacije (što nije problem ubaciti kasnije, ako zatreba).

Kod enumeracije u prijašnjem postu, fulao sam u vezi stringova, tako da proces enumeracije ide ustvari ovako...

Ako se netko želi početi družiti sa MSP430, a nije mu potrebno da uC ima USB podršku, i 16 MHz mu je više nego dovoljno, tada je TI-a podrška za MSP430F2xx seriju više nego povoljna (4.30$, poštarina uračunata u cijenu)...

Zadnjih dana sam se igrao sa MSP430F5xx uartom. Kod svake promjene baudrate-a (a mjenjao sam podosta), treba ponovo izračunati konfiguraciju. I tako to s vremenom... dosadi.

Nakucao sam mali program koji na osnovu takta i željenog baudrate-a izračuna konfiguraciju. Nakon proračuna, klikne se mišem na prvi/drugi listing (ništa se ne događa), i onda sa [CTRL]+[C] sadržaj iskopira u clipboard.

Nažalost, pri izradi pločice (čiju sliku sam na temi već priljepio) sam stavio samo BSL tipku, za ulazak u USB BSL mod za programiranje, a ne i reset. Tako da sam za flash-anje svaki put uštekavao USB kabel u komp s pritisnutom BSL tipkom.

Našla mi se konačno lemilica pod rukom, pa sam dodao reset tipku, tako da za ulazak u USB BSL mod za programiranje nije više potrebno ištekavati/uštekavati USB kabel iz/u komp, nego je dovoljno pritisnuti zajedno BSL tipku i reset tipku, pustiti prvo reset, a nakon reseta BSL.

MSP430F550X je full-speed USB uređaj, s prijenosom 12 Mbits/s (1500 KB/s). Teoretski maksimalni mogući transfer rate je 19 full-size paketa po frame-u, odnosno 19 * 64 bytes / ms = 1200 KB/s. Testirao sam ovih dana koliko to brzo stvarno može ići u praksi. Radi se o generic bulk transferu pod Win XP SP2 koristeći winusb.sys driver. Prvo PC pošalje uC 4 MB, a nakon toga uC pošalje PC 4 MB. Transfer rate je približno jednak u oba slučaja.

Test je potvrdio informacije koje se mogu naći na net-u. Host treba napraviti zahtijev za što većom količinom podataka odjednom i u tom slučaju transfer rate raste. Promjenom veličine host buffera (PC strana) od 1 KB na 32 KB, transfer rate se udvostručio.

Evo da se pohvalim, i skinem prašinu s teme. :shock:

Napravio sam najbrži programator na kugli zemaljskoj (koliko mi je poznato) za MSP430F2xx chipove (a u planu je podrška i za ostale MSP430 familije). Baziran je na MSP430F550x (dakle, ona slika pločice koju sam već prije zaljepio) koji se priključuje (i napaja, bus-powered) preko USB-a na PC. Uređaj/pločica koji se programira napaja se preko programatora. Programator je u stanju paralelno/istovremeno/odjednom programirati do 4 uređaja, bez promjene brzine programiranja.

Programiranje 32 KB sa dva uređaja (MSP430F2272) na SBW+ sabirnici:

Ja imam onu prethodnu verziju, ali nisam jos poceo da se igram. Samo ti pisi svoja iskustva, dobro ce doci.

Novi MSP430F5529 LP je baziran na novom EZ-FET Lite debugeru (MSP430F5528), koji podržava sve MSP430 chipove preko SBW-a, a kod firmware/PC je potpuno otvoren (open source). Stari LP podržava MSP430G2xx chipove, a ostalo možda, dok nadogradnja/update firmware-a ovisi o dobroj volji TI-a (koje uglavnom nema). Za razliku od starog LP, kod kojeg je USB-UART bridge bio limitiran na 9600 bps, kod novog su podržani BR do 1 Mbps.

Postoji web stranica na kojoj se može vidjeti sve u vezi MSP430 http://43oh.com/
Ja sam narucivao fr*e sample s http://www.ti.com/ i sve je uredno došlo u roku 3 dana.
Moguće je naručit 5 Mikrokontrolera (ili nekih drugih dostupnih komponenti) * 2 .Samo što se smije naručivat jednom u 2 mjeseca.Još bi dodao da postoji program za programiranje spomenutog msp430 koji je
identičan programu Arduino (koji je prikladniji početnicima) ,a zove se Energia.Također postoji launchpad za 10$ koji se može naručit s njihove stranice.Nadam se da sam nekom pomogao :D
