Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
HI!
please answer in English, because i can't read your language, sorry
in this project, in the description.pdf, there are some diffrence between schematic diagram and the designed pcb.
1-the diode attached to the relay in schematic is 1N4001, but in the pcb you have used 1N4148...
2-in schematic, two diodes are 1N4001, but in PCB, they are 1N4007.
3-the most important problem which made me mixed, is the input section, where the to line's ( L1 & L2 ), enter the circuit:
in the Schematic, the series of (2*zener diode)+(10k Res)+(0.1 u/400v Cap) are connected to PIN(1) of optocoupler AND Cathode of the 1N4001.
BUT:
in the PCB, the series of (2*zener diode)+(10k Res)+(0.1 u/400v Cap) are connected to PIN(2) of optocoupler AND Anode of the 1N4001.
which is correct?!?
PLEASE ANSWER ME AND HELP IN SOLVING MY PROBLEM. I'VE MADE THE CIRCUIT, BUT DOES'T WORK...

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
Hello,
1. You can use 1N4148 instead of 1N4001 for the relay board! It doesn't matter.
2. 1N4001 is the same as 1N4007
3. They are both right, you can choose which combination to use. It might be a bit confusing, but it will work both ways.
Well, what kind of problems are you having with this device? Does it detect the ring-signal when you "call" it? If not, try using other zener diodes with voltage lower than 75V, lets say around 50V or something like that.

HI!
TANX FOR YOUR ANSWER AND HELP!
i made circuit according to the schematic. as connections which i mentioned last post.
Because of unabling to make boards with SMD components (i don't have proper device like heater, and its expensive to get it make outdoor!) , I changed the pcb (redesign) with HMD components...
I replaced all SMD Res with usual carbon Res. And all of SMD Caps with nonpolar Caps ( except 3 polar Caps).
The 500v VDR is not in normal range, i used a 450v one.
i used two 100n/400v "MKT" Caps in the entrance.
other components are same as published schematic.
changing zener?! Good Idea!
i measured the phone line voltage. its about 65v(DC) and when it's called from other line, goed to 48~22(alternating!)v(DC).
also 143v(AC), and when called, goes to 104~90 (AC).
my problem is same as you said. when i call the line, no action, no response... anything happens! even the LED is off. the relay (on main unit) not work...

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
Well, try other zener diodes and report with results
I hope you used a proper 1:1 transformer, from an old PC modem...

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
Hi,
i changed 75v zeners with 51v ones.
my transformer is 1:1 and 600ohms. new! i bought it with other components.
but no result . I called the line, and the voltage changed (measured by multimeter). but any action was taken. even the LED is still OFF...
what should i do..?!?

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
When you turn on the power, LED should blink. Does it blink when you supply the power to device? If it doesn't blink, than you didn't program your PIC properly, or oscillator doesn't work!
Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
blink?? when i connect the supply power, anything happens.
programming PIC? i have no programmer, i gave it programmed outdoor.... the same HEX file included in the project.
i connected a little piece of wire to metal body of oscillator and GND. is it harmful? because in some circuits its included... should i disconnect it?
i used a 3.579 crystal.

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
Well, the PIC should be programmed with pc6.hex file, found in project files. You should really make sure it is properly programmed!!!
The GND on crystal body is OK.
Anyway, the LED will blink when you turn it ON. If not, you probably didn't program your PIC properly... you should do it again than.

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
trax cemu sluzi taj uredaj?
Dvije ploče jedan izolator, mala moja to je KONDENZATOR...
Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
ok Trax, i'll try program it again.
dear Smjesko & race king !
I can't read your language
Can you type in English?
or tell me what is your language, so i can use a online translator, like altavista babylon. tanx

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
@masoud, it's nothing important that I said to Race King. I just explained him what is this controller used for.
Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
TANX TO ALL DEAR FRIENDS FOR YOUR ANSWERS AND HELP!
i should check my pcb connections again( however i've checked it over million times!...)
then reprogram the micro....
hope that it works
i'll send results...

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH...
I'M SO SO SO SO SO... CONFUSED.
I ERASED THE PIC AND REPROGRAMED IT.
I CHANGED MY MT8870.
I CHECKED MY SOLDERING POINTS.
I CHECKED Vcc POINTS ON THE BOARD,... ALL 5v.
I USED A 560OHM 1W Res..
.
..
...
BUT NO ACTION.. NO BLINKING LIGHT...NO EVENT...NO CHANGE... ANY ANY THING...
SO ANGRY... EXPLODING...10..9..8..7..6....

Re: Phone line controller v2 - 6 releja
Maybe your phone-line-relay is not working, or your LED is not working
Make sure you connected the crystal properly! That crystal is for both PIC and MT8870 chip. How did you route the clock crystal pcb trace, why don't you put some pictures here so we can help more.
